My new glasses came in last Friday and even though I'm incredibly sick, I have been enjoying the ability to see again! I've never owned a pair of Ray-Bans before, but I really, really love them. My mom and sister are super jealous; my step-dad calls them BCGs. (That's Air Force code for "Birth Control Glasses" XD) However, I'm currently mucking about the house with a sore throat and horrible sinuses. On top of that, I'm having a really bad UC flare-up, so its been a rough week so far. Still, I thought I'd post an outfit for all of you!

When I'm feeling better, at the request of couple of my amazing readers (namely miss Amalia of A Little Bit of Shine and miss Frances of Polka Polish and Making A Mess), I will be putting together some tutorial videos on how I do my hair and makeup. If there's anything else anyone would like to see, whether a certain make-up look or hairstyle that I've done in the past or if you just have some questions for me, feel free to post them here or e-mail me at cocol@muffintopbaby.com and I will be sure to answer them for you :}

Lots of love! <3 <3 <3

I hope everyone had a fun weekend. I, myself, suffered from a bout of food poisoning thanks to my parents' friends - I think they under-cooked the pork they brought to lunch early on Saturday afternoon (I'm still feeling a little gross) - which really sucked, because Saturday night I was supposed to go to this amazing charity benefit; I was really looking forward to seeing my good friend Kari and helping raise money for a great cause. On a good note though, before the icky-ness kicked in, I did manage to get new glasses! I picked out these amazing Ray Bans and I am so, so excited for them to get here. I guess my eyesight has gotten better too (which I didn't know it could do!), or so the people at the optical center told me. Anyhoo!

These glasses are seriously the coolest ones I've ever owned. They're thick-rimmed Wayfarers in a really wicked fiery tortoise-shell texture with this really cool slant to them. Ah! I love them. I can't wait to show you them! I wish I could have left the store with them the same day, but oh well. I only have to wait about 4-7 days more. That should be easy, right? (Probably not, actually. Lol.) I have no patience when it comes to nifty things like new clothes, accessories, electronics, and so on. I hate the waiting period in between, especially when all I can think about are the amazing outfits that will go with these new goggles of mine. Oh, why can't they be here now? Not going to lie, I feel a little like Veruca Salt. "I want an Oompah Loompah, and I want it now!"

Buuut instead, I shall just be happy and rejoice for my amazing new followers! And I'd like to welcome them to MTB! So say hello to the fashion, shopping, music and photography-loving Aleksandra of Ola's Closet; aspiring fashion writer and style runaway Kelsey at RUNAWAY IN LA; marathon shopper and jogger Mery from Cup of Frappe; Greek Goddess Matina over at Living With Style; and uberly talented artist, stylist, and decorista, Lauren Christine of Golden White Decor. I love what each of you ladies do!

Thanks a bunch for following <3

P.S. This outfit was inspired by Karin Kirsten of Wunderlust (one of my absolute favorite blogs) whose most recent post "Falling" featured a great combination of a lace Top Shop bodysuit paired with an Asos maxi skirt. So thank you for the inspiration, Miss Karin!

    So I've been really, really busy the past week with school and all that, but to my excitement; I was also entrusted to develop a Tumblr for Healthy is the New Skinny! So my time for the past several days has pretty much been devoted to putting together an awesome layout and graphics for it. I can't wait to unveil the final product to all of you when its finished! In other news, my step-dad, who recently applied for some jobs at a few of the Air Force bases across the pond, heard back from the one in Aviano (Italy) and they've basically given him the job. I'm so stoked! We're unsure where everything will go from here, as there's still a lot of negotiations, but its likely the majority of the move won't be happening for another year. So, I have twelve months to decide whether or not I'm going with them or if I want to stay here and possibly move down to LA. Either way, I'm super excited!

    Also! It's time to welcome a new round-up of followers! So please say hello to the eclectically stylish miss Froso M. of Style Nirvana, the very inspiring Elspeth Angharad at Glitter and Pearls, and the suuuper chic Jennifer Worman of Red Soles and Red Wine! Thank you so much for following, you fabulous ladies, you! <3

    P.S. I added a music widget, an MTB "Jukebox" if you will, so you guys can hear the songs that inspire each of my posts!

    Love Is A Four Letter Word

    faux fur fox-tail from the alleys in LA, B.C. ankle biker booties)

    Hello, lovelies! After a long Labor Day Weekend and the flu, I thought I'd post a new outfit for you! Pretty simple and relaxed, really. A tank top layered with my favorite graphic tee and I decided to rock my favorite plaid button-up as a sort of skirt, channeling 90s Grunge if you will. I kind of liked how it looked over shorts too though. The look kind of reminds me of  elementary school days, when we wrapped our sweaters and jackets around our waists at lunch time and recess... A great trip down memory lane...

    Anyhoo! I've been running around like a mad woman today, trying to get things done (including some school work and some new graphic/website design commissions) and sorted out before the big FNO event tonight. It should be a ton of fun and I'm looking forward to seeing some of my favorite fashion-forward faces there!

    Hope you all had a fun, safe Labor Day! <3

    xoxo Coco
