diy: flannel cutout shirt

So I went thrifting with my little sister today and picked up a flannel, because I've seriously been in love with the cutout shoulders look for a while now (it adds great edge to any top), and especially the Flannel Cutout Shirt by UNIF over at NastyGal. Unfortunately, its all sold out now, but being the crafty kinda gal that I am, I decided to DIY one for myself, and although I would have liked a much more over-sized flannel; I do really like how it turned out.

What do you guys think? :}

Outfit Inspiration: Oh, Foxey Lady!

Currently Listening to:
"Foxey Lady" by Jimi Hendrix

4. Lace-up Suede Platform in TAUPE @GoJane - $38.55 (ON SALE!)
5. Rhinestone Embellished Shield Ring in PEWTER @GoJane - $14.30

As Fall approaches, I find myself more and more inspired by the laid-back, yet edgy aesthetic of vintage rocker chic. Its relaxed and a bit disheveled, but still sexy - tight jeans, wavy bedhead hair and all! I LOVE the intricacy of the new UNIF Birkin Fringe Top (nothing says 70s like a fringe) from Nasty Gal, and the details of the rosary-inspired necklace and Rhinestone Shield Ring from Go Jane; paired with these simple, but excellently made not-quite-skinny, not-quite-flared jeans from Madewell, who absolutely live up to their name. To top it all off, who could resist these towering platform boots, which look oh-so wickedly close to the infamous Jeffrey Campbell "Lita" - only, for a quarter of the price! A much sweeter deal for bargainistas on a budget, if you ask me!

I could totally see myself rockin' to the sounds of Hendrix, Zeppelin and Muddy Waters in these super hot, but super cool threads.

Now if only I had this exact outfit for my shoot in the morning! Haha!

Favorite Color For Fall.

So its safe to say that officially, my favorite color for the Fall season is . . .

*drum roll please*

Nude. Thats right, Nude.

(Frilled Slip Dress by Cheap Monday, Nasty Gal Vintage / Diana Creem Sheer Blouse, Ayla Ivory Drape One Sleeve Dress, Dixi)

Colors like Nude, Creme, Khaki, Ivory and Beige are the perfect way to do subtle-sexy. Why? Because flesh-tones automatically make the brain think of just that; your birthday suit. They're also very romantic and playful and trigger thoughts of warm lips against blushing cheeks. (They'll make the boys swoon and wonder just what it'd be like to very sweetly hold your hand!) Personally, I think every girl should have at least one flesh-tone (and a little see-through) piece in their wardrobe this season. Pair them with acid wash jeans, a leather jacket, lace, or any rich, royal colors to make the most of your sheer brilliance!
