Long time, no post!

Hello to all my followers! Its been a while, hasn't it?

As some of you know, I've had a lot on my plate since last year when my parents announced they were moving to Italy. Its been a little rough, but I've been a busy bee trying to get things together in preparation for my move to SoCal, arranging work and a place to stay. Luckily, I've found the latter, but I'm still working on the former. I'm also in the midst of building up my wardrobe stylist portfolio and have had a lot of fun (and success) in doing so over the past several months!

Curious as to what I've been up to? Here's a peek!

To see more, check out wardrobe stylist blog: Jet Blonde

While I'm not closing Muffin Top Baby, I will be updating this new one more frequently as I produce more work. So be sure to check it out/follow to keep up with me and all my photoshoot adventures!

All my love,
- K

Hello, Sunshine!

(Covergirl lipstick in Spellbound #325, Minted nail color by Revlon,
seashell ring from Bows & Arrows in downtown Sac)

Long time, no post, huh? Well, my sincerest apologies to my readers for being such a bad blogger. I can't believe its been nearly two months since I last posted--shame on me! I definitely missed you guys, and I plan to post quite a bit more now that I've settled into a new job and have begun the big transition from teenager to adult. (I know right, finally! Lol) A lot has been going on since my visit to LA this past December, while most of it has been really, really tough, I know it will be worth it in the long run :-)

At the moment I'm working steady hours again, I've got a new project under my belt for the upcoming Summer, and I'm getting ready for my parents' big move to Italy. Supposedly my step-dad will be leaving later this month to settle in there and he'll come back in June or July or so; with my mom and sister soon to follow. Its a bit scary to think that I'm going to be out on my own, with the only family I have far, far from here (all the way on another continent!), but I'm trying my best to adjust to the idea and to get ready for it. I'm saving up and hoping I can find an affordable place of my own when the time comes, but until then; I'm enjoying the time I have left with everyone.

The weather has been UH-MAZING here in Sacramento the past week or so. Its been bright and shiny, a little windy today and yesterday, but nothing a light jacket can't fix. Spring is beautiful--its my second favorite season, next to Summer, even though it can be BLAZING here in the Summer months. Still, I'm already breaking out the shorts and enjoying the maxi dress weather I've been presented with lately. I'm really looking forward to being able to lounge around in nothing but a swimsuit though. That is definitely one of the best feelings! Speaking of which, I've been keeping my eye out for some cute must-haves for the warmer weather. At the moment, I'm crushing super hard on dyed & destroyed denim jeans with studs and the like. So, so cute...

I attempted to DIY a pair last weekend with my little sis, but the kool-aid and food coloring didn't hold up. While I was dying them, they looked gorgeous and I was really excited for the outcome, only to toss them in the washer, take them out, and find they looked exactly the same as when I started with them! The dye had completely rinsed out! I was bummed to say the least, but I'm planning to do it again with real fabric/rit dye, and not the organic/alternative stuff. Despite following the directions of another DIY tutorial, it just didn't work. Fingers crossed that it will next time! Until then, I've got two very important interviews this week--so wish me luck? :-)

Outfit post coming soon! <3

xoxo Coco

P.S. What are you guys looking forward to about Spring/Summer the most?

part gypsy, part warrior

Currently Listening to:

(Angel-sleeve dress and silver ring c/o Gypsy Warrior,

I'm so very excited to announce that MTB has a new sponsor - Gypsy Warrior!

If you haven't visited or shopped Gypsy Warrior yet, I HIGHLY recommend you do so A-S-A-P. I absolutely love GW. The clothes are so fashion-forward and unique - if I could, I would buy everything up in the store for myself! Their combination of modern NYC mixed with vintage rock'n'roll is positively chic! Nicla, co-founder (alongside Michel) was kind enough to send me an amazing parcel with this beautiful angel-sleeve mini dress and badass silver and black stone ring. She also hand-wrote me a little note - how sweet is that? I'm so in love with how this dress feels when I wear it... I can definitely promise you guys that you'll be seeing more of it! Lol!

More exciting news: I went blonde! Like, really, really blonde. I had to go to the doctor on Monday (the last visit for this month, thank goodness) and afterward I treated myself to a trip to the salon. I walked in and asked the girl there for the Abbey Lee, who is my total style-crush right now (seriously, I can't get enough of that woman) and luckily I didn't have to whip out the photos I'd brought with me as examples - she already knew exactly what I wanted and I couldn't be happier with the results. A new me for the new season.

Anyhoo! I'm so into angel and bell-sleeves this fall. There's something undeniably bohemian about them, y'know? What are your guys' fashion obsessions for this Fall? Do Share! <3

Currently Listening to:

I love October. The beginning of Autumn in general is amazing, actually. The leaves are changing and the sunsets somehow always seem more poetic around this time of year. Plus there's always that onset of childish excitement for Halloween (one of my favorite holidays) no matter how old you are. Admittedly, I usually spend my October nights watching scary movies and having marathons of my two biggest guilty pleasures: Paranormal State. I will also confess that I have a bit of crush on Ryan Buell. There, I said it.

I'm very excited for Halloween. (All of my neighbors have decorations up, so I'm thinking a Halloween-themed outfit post/shoot may be in order.) And although twenty-one is decidedly a little too old to trick-r-treat, I still plan on celebrating, and dressing up. As what, I'm still not sure, which is a little sad considering the thirty-first is only about a week and a half away. I do well under pressure though, so I'll likely come up with something resourceful two days before and DIY it all myself. Yay for crafting! Lol!

Now though I'd like to take the time to say hello and welcome to my amazing new followers!

I'm so happy to have you be a part of the Muffin Top Baby family, and so glad to know that you loved my blog enough to follow!
Thank you so much for the wonderful comments and the love! They mean so much to me <3

(Dress by BeBop, shoes and tights from Forever21glasses by Ray-Ban)

I can't believe its been a whole year! Unfortunately, I woke up incredibly dehydrated, but I managed to suck it up and snap some quick pics for you guys in my new dress. Isn't it darling? My mom bought it for me as a Bloggerthday present! And to celebrate the blog, I decided to switch up the banner :}

From the bottom of my heart though, I want to thank all of my readers for your love and support! From spreading the word about Muffin Top Baby, to returning to read and comment time and time again, and even for all your well wishes and prayers through my health struggles... You guys have  seriously made this such a great experience, and it makes blogging all the more worth it!

I look forward to celebrating birthday #2 with all of you!!! <3

Muffin Top Baby On Hiatus.

To all of my dear readers...

I'm so, so sorry to you all for not being a good blogger. I haven't been very active, due to my health - as well as a whole mess of other issues arising in my personal life - and it's definitely not fair to you guys. I'm taking the time now to announce that Muffin Top Baby will be on an official hiatus until the further notice.

Being sick so often doesn't lend me the time or energy to update you guys as much as I'd like (my stomach and digestive issues are incredibly painful and I spend a majority of my time indoors, in bed) and I just don't have the funds to really support the blog right now. I'm very sad about this, but sometimes you just have to step back and take a break. I really need to get my health (among other things) back on track and I hope to do that very soon, so I can come back and keep providing you guys with quality content you deserve.

I just want to thank everybody for being so wonderful to me. To my fellow bloggers who have really supported MTB and spreading the word, thank you so much for the friendship, and to my readers who check in to show me their love, I appreciate your kind words so much. I can't wait to get happy and healthy again for you and for me. I will try to update you as often as I can to let you know how I'm doing health-wise.

I hope you guys are off to a great start this summer. Have fun and enjoy the sun.

Love, from the bottom of my heart,
your curvy and crumbly blogger

Far Too Long.

Currently listening to:
"DayGlo" by Iglu & Hartly

I am so, so sorry to all of you, for not updating over the past month. I didn't mean to leave you guys in limbo like that! As you may have gathered from the last couple posts I made, I was not doing well health-wise - I'm still not actually - but I'm working on recovering and getting back into good condition.

Last year, I was diagnosed with a disease called Ulcerative Colitis, which is an inflammatory disorder that's incredibly painful and difficult to manage. It makes even simple things like riding in cars a nightmare for me, and more often than not, I can't keep food (nutrients) in, so I run out of energy quickly. Unfortunately, my health care ran out as well and I've not had the medication to manage it, nor access to any pain medicine, so as you guys can imagine; I've been faced with a lot of hardship lately. But I promise to try and get some good stuff up for you guys, though I warn you it may be sparse for the next few weeks until I get some results back... I appreciate you guys being so patient with me and all the love and support. I hope you're all well and I can't wait to be in tip-top shape for you guys again! :}

In other more fun news, my friends over at Healthy is the New Skinny featured me on the website yesterday!

I was so excited and honored to get a text from the lovely Miss Katie in the morning to tell me about it :} You can read and see more HERE <3

Q&A With Coco & A Survey For All My Readers

Hey there to all my fabulous readers! I hope you're all having a great week so far :}

I just wanted to let you know that I created a little survey for the blog! (You can check it out HERE.) And I would greatly appreciate it if you could take a few minutes to fill it out! It's nothing too fancy, but I wanted the chance to find out more about you guys and what you thought of the blog; so I could fine-tune it to make it the best it possibly could be for all of you. Since, after all, a blog isn't just about the person who writes it, but the people who take the time to visit and read it too! You guys are just as much a part of Muffin Top Baby as I am!

Also, I was thinking about doing a Q&A session! So, if you guys have any questions for me about anything at all, whether it's blog-related or about me personally, you can e-mail me at muffintopbabyblog@yahoo.com.

I'll fit in as many of your questions as I possibly can <3

Please Pray For Our Sponsor!

This is not an outfit post or an inspiration board, this is me, asking you my readers, for your support...

(Yeonpyeong Island engulfed in smoke after NK Military Assualt)

As some of you may have read or heard, yesterday North Korea opened fire on Yeonpyeong Island, which is located just off the coast of South Korea... Where MFB's very own sponsor Pinkage is from.

While they themselves are located in Seoul (so there is some distance), I'm sure they were still rocked by this devastating attack, which is said to be the worst against civilians in twenty years; and it worries me to know that it could have been them that had been fired upon! The attack stems from tension earlier this year, when a South Korean warship (in which 46 sailors were killed) was sunk, allegedly due to a North Korean torpedo back in March; and again from NK's claim that is has a new Uranium enrichment facility as well as leader Kim Jong Il unveiling his youngest son as his heir earlier this month...

Reports say that two South Korean Marines as well as two civilians were killed in the artillery fire, leaving many more people injured in its wake, which is incredibly heartbreaking. Many homes were on fire and destroyed, and I hope for my South Korean followers and readers that you are safe and that you did not suffer any personal losses!

So everyone, please keep not only the wonderful folks at Pinkage in your thoughts and prayers, but the entire nation of South Korea too!

Thank you!

Muffin Top Baby, Version 2.0

So here it is... A newly re-vamped layout for the blog!!!

I wanted to spruce it up a little, y'know, give it some extra oomph, so I added some color and some cute new graphics here and there. I went with some pink and teal to give it a real feminine pop, but I still wanted keep it simple (I like simple) and easy-to-read; which I think we managed to pull off with this new facelift :}

Also! There are some new items in the shop, so head on over to Coco's Closet to check out the goodies...

I have some very, very exciting news by the way: Madeline, the founder of Wiki Fashion, got in contact with me yesterday and wants to feature muffin top baby over at the site; and I couldn't be more stoked for it! She was so kind, she  created a page for MFB to get it started, now I'm working on my contribution as we speak! The feature is scheduled to go on WikiFashion tomorrow (November 3rd) so be sure to check it out!

As well, I have a special interview/Q&A in the works for you guys, with a very talented photographer, from right here in Sacramento too... Buuut I don't want to give away too much too soon! So you'll just have to wait it out and see ;)

Until then, enjoy all the new awesome-ness and let me know what you think of Muffin Top Baby, Version 2.0!!!

Banner.

I noticed on everyone else's blogs that they have nifty little banners. Some are just words, some are pictures, but looking at my own bare bones blogster I couldn't help but feel like I needed one too. So, miss muffin top baby was born :}

Since this is a fashion blog, I wanted to incorporate that, hence the fashion croquis. I was dead set on using a plus size croquis though, which was incredibly hard to find btw (took me an hour and thirty-seven minutes), but I did and it was all thanks to a dedredhead on DeviantArt. I also chose a blueberry crumble, because A. They are delicious and B. I always say that everyone has a different type of muffin top and mine is exactly that; a blueberry crumble!

That being said, leave a comment and tell me what type of muffin top you've got! <3

Now I'm off to re-decorate my room...

Hello there!

Welcome! This is my new blog. This is where I plan to post thoughts and pictures about fashion, life, good deals, local hot spots, and all my fun modeling adventures, but...mostly about fashion. Lol. I really want to feature fabulous clothes and how curvier girls can enjoy wearing them too! (Because great fashion sense doesn't just come in a size 2 after all!)

So stay tuned for lots of awesome things to come <3
