I know it's been several weeks since this story made the headlines, but... I'm still obsessing over knitwear designer Mark Fast's SS11 show in which he featured not one, but three industry plus models on his runway.

The size 12 and size 14 models (Haley Morley, 21, Laura Caterrall, 20, and Gwyneth Harrison, 25) strutted the catwalk in his figure-hugging bodycon designs, which looked absolutely stunning, in my opinion, coupled with their curves.
The project almost didn't make it to Fashion Week though, when two members of his design team were so enraged at the idea of using plus size models that they quit the show three days before opening. Fortunately for us, it was saved by Natalie Hubbarb and Daniela Agnelli, two freelancers who stepped in to help Fast when his stylists stormed out over what they call 'creative differences'.

"The decision to use fuller girls is something we have been talking about. There's an idea that only thin and slender women are able to wear Mark's dresses and he wanted to combat that. We wanted women to know they didn't have to be a size zero to wear a Mark Fast dress - curvier women can look even better in them." Said Amanda May, Fast's creative director.
"Mark has been passionate about using larger women and really wanted to show that they look great in his dresses. Every time I think things are progressing, they end up going back to how they've always been. I hope this has sparked lasting changes."

It's not hard to believe either. The fashion industry is rather close-minded, but luckily to these great individuals, we were able to see larger women on the runway looking just as sophisticated, stylish and sexy as their size 0 counter parts.
Is it possible that curves and coushin (and dare I say, muffin tops? ;D) might be the new skin and bones?
